Long Lake Hydro

Long Lake Generation Station, a Joint Venture Partnership with Premier Power Corporation, is approx. 31 MW hydroelectric project located on Cascade Creek near Stewart, BC.

About This Project

Construction has started on the much anticipated Long Lake Hydro Electric Project located 25km outside of Stewart. The estimated 90-million dollar project is expected to employ 160 people at the peak of the 2 year construction schedule. Once complete a rock filled dam located at the head of Long Lake will supply a year around flow of water down a 7.25km penstock supplying two-jet Pelton-type turbines generating 137 GWh of power annually. The power will flow through a new 10km 138kV transmission line which will connect to the BC Hydro grid with an option to interconnect to other projects in the region.

In addition to the economic impact to Stewart a consistent power source in mineral rich region will lower operating costs of the numerous mining exploration projects in the region.
